The annual motorcycle rally on the last weekend in April marks the start of the motorcycle season in Kulmbach.
Kulmbach is an ideal starting point for a motorcycle tour and Franconia’s particularly attractive routes can be “experienced” and discovered.
These include the scenic and varied recreational areas of Franconian Switzerland with its rock formations along the Wiesent, the Franconian Forest with its dense coniferous forests, the Fichtel Mountains and the Main Valley with Banz Abbey, the Vierzehnheiligen Basilica and the Staffelberg.
“Motorradstraße Deutschland” has developed various tours that lead across high plateaus and narrow valleys with winding roads. In addition to riding fun, these tours offer plenty of nature, typical Franconian half-timbered houses, castles and castle ruins.
During the day, enjoy your ride on a round trip and in the evening, enjoy the good regional beer in one of the many rustic restaurants in Kulmbach’s old town in the shadow of the historic Plassenburg castle – it’s not for nothing that the Bavarian administrative district of Upper Franconia can advertise itself with the highest density of breweries in Germany and therefore in the world and the title “Genussregion Oberfranken” (Upper Franconia region of enjoyment)

Tour 1 - Franconian Switzerland (310 km):
“Everything is in flux” is a fitting motto for this tour from Kulmbach into Franconian Switzerland.
Tour 2 - Upper Main Valley (260 km):
Gentle chains of hills, wide floodplains and dreamy valleys characterize the romantic character of this touring area. You ride through very varied landscapes.
Tour 3 - Franconian Forest (250 km):
The starting point for this tour is Stadtsteinach in the Kulmbach region. The road quickly leads through dense forests up into the green crown of Bavaria, as the region is also known.
Tour 4 - Fichtelgebirge (275 km):
The fourth tour of our cloverleaf leads directly from Kulmbach into the Fichtelgebirge. This is a real paradise of bends. The mountain peaks with heights of up to 1100 meters are an additional guarantee for attractive motorcycle routes.
